The British Burn Association will consider applications for travel/research grants from BBA Members. Any travel grants should include a defined aim with an area of burn care identified, which you wish to explore and has relevance to your clinical practice.
- Applicants must have been a member of the BBA for the past 12 months prior to a grant application being considered
- Please confine your application to the form; additional material
will not be considered
- Please submit 3 copies of the form or one copy on 3.5” disk
or by email
- It is important that Ethical Committee approval is obtained for
those procedures set down in your application before commencing work.
If application has not been made to the Ethical Committee prior to submission,
this must be explained
- Grants will not normally exceed £1000
- Please include details of support obtained elsewhere or if any departmental
resources are devoted to this project
- Justification for support is important and attention should be given
for this
- Successful applicants must submit a progress report (not more than
one side of A4) to the Honorary Treasurer not later than 6 months after
receipt of the grant and a final report should be submitted on completion
of the work
- Having been awarded a grant, should you be unable to undertake the
travel/conference, then the grant must be returned to the British Burn
Association as soon as possible. The grant may not be used for purposes
other than those for which it was awarded
- Any published work as a result of the grant, must give acknowledgement
to the British Burn Association
- The British Burn Association is unlikely to consider repeated applications
for the same project
- The British Burn Association reserve the right to reclaim any unused
funds directly and any equipment bought with the funds remains the property
of the British Burn Association
